I went and I loved it. It was at the convention center and being in Baltimore right now is greatness. They are preparing the city streets for the car race coming up. There are gates and bleachers on every block down pratt street along the Inner Harbor. It is amazing to see.
I wasn't sure what to expect going into comicon and I felt like a nerd going at first cause some of my friends were making fun of me for wanting to go, but some supported my full exposure of nerdiness. When we went in there were some zombies walking around drooling and shit...ew. But then there were storm troopers! Oh shit! I got so geeked at these guys, I knew this day was gonna be a winner after seeing them. We got our tickets and headed in. It's basically a ginormous room that we didn't get to cover every inch, filled with comic book artists and their groupies. The first table we saw had some cool little comic figures, the next was a dood prolly my age who was a painter and painted amazing scenes of better known comic book heroes. He was selling his original artwork for as low as $200 and prints for $10. I bought a couple of prints to frame and put in my boos room and we went on. The next table was a girl in her late twentys and she took canvas bags and made little kawaii super heros on them and buttons. My boo asked for some buttons and stickers and I realized I am going need to need some cold hard cash to continue on this endeavor. Go figure the closest atm was broken so we went up 3 floors and across the building to get some cash flow. On our way back we stuck our heads into some of the conference rooms where there was a costume contest. "yes!" we hit the jackpot - we saw everryonneeeeee there. From wolverine to scott pilgrim's nemesis' we saw them all. We took a bunch of pics and continued on our journey through the event. We picked up tons of artwork and even had someone draw somthin special just for my boo. When the convention center was closing we drove over to Fells Point and hit up this mexican jawn that was crazy good. Then walked 2 blocks to "Afters," which is the shit. You go in and grab a container, pick out the type of frozen yogurt you want and fill your container, then head to the lil condiment bar where you can pick from an abundance of toppings from fruity pebble cereal to gummy bears. Perfect ending to a perfect day. I def will be attending comicon next year...maybe next year I'll get my extreme geek on and enter the costume contest. Ok I wouldn't go that far...I think.

Today is my boo's 1st day of Kindergarten. The weather predicted the mood, it was cold and rainy this morning. I woke him up at 7am and he smiled while keeping his eyes closed as I sang him the good morning song. Then he wrapped his arms around my neck and asked for "some more minutes of sleep please mommy." In my head I was saying "yes! yes! yes! sleep as long as you want, stay home and be my baby forever." but the responsible side of me kicked in and cuddled him while telling him he needed to get up to take a bath before school.
I had the bathtub all ready just the way he likes...warm with no bubbles and a few toys. He thanked me for having no bubbles and his bath went by event free. I dried him off and picked out some shorts n a shirt for him to wear with a striped tie. Put on his DC skater shoes and put out a donut and orange juice for him to eat while I made his lunch...
- ham n cheese check
- juice box check, "uh what if he's really thirsty, I'll just put in two in case."

- fruit snacks check
- "uh whats something he will be so happy to have when he opens his lunch box...oh m&m's, he'll love that. but wait there's no fruit, shit he can't have cookies, fruit snacks & m&m's. shit i don't have any fruit left, the teacher's gonna think I'm trying to give him diabetes! I know, I'll take out the cookies and put them in his bookbag, not his lunchbox, then it won't seem so bad if all the sugar isn't in one spot."
He tells me he's full off half a donut while I'm signing forms and packing his bookbag with all the stuff from his school supply list we got yesterday. I draw him a picture of a funny looking monster and put it in his lunchbox to find later. I put his batman bookbag on him and give him his lunchbox and we head to the car.
We pull out of the neighborhood slowly and I try to not make eye contact with all the other parents who are brave enough to put their kids on the bus, cause that's not me yet. We, I mean he isn't ready for all that yet so we continue on our journey. I don't think I ever drove so slow in my life. I milked this car ride as long as I could. I eyed the line of cars that pull up to the curb to let their kids out and proceeded until it was our turn. I looked in the back seat and then over to all the kids on the sidewalk. I wasn't ready yet! I couldn't possibly unbuckle him and help him out of the car here, I need more time! I kept driving by the let off point and pulled into the parking lot.
When I got him out of the car and put his backpack on and handed him his lunchbox he told me I was the best and most beautiful mommy ever. He always knows what to say! How does he do that when he is so little? How come full grown men I know don't ever know what to say but he says the perfect things! He asked to hold my hand and I smiled so big that he still wanted to hold my hand even in front of all these kids. We walked over to the "k" sign for his grade. Oh shit...his teacher wasn't here yet, I can't possibly leave him here with all these other Kindergarteners, they could be thugs! Evil ninjas could come out of the trees and try to take him to be an assassin! There's no way I can leave him now. More kids started coming to stand by the "k" line and I noticed more parents with them too. Maybe I'm not the only one worried about thugs and evil ninja's?
A little girl approached my boo and said hi, he said hi back and told her his name. I eyed up this little girl trying to figure out if she could be as sweet as she looked or if she could be the little minx who is going to teach my boo how to cuss in class when the teacher isn't looking! I noticed her dad was eying up my boo too maybe he's thinking the same thing? We exchanged awkwards glances and a half smile before I turned my attention back to my boo. Oh shit here comes his teacher, does this mean I'm going to have to leave now? fuckkkkkkkkkk. I took a deep breath and asked boo if he remembered which one she was from when we came to visit her. He said yes and I bent down to give him a kiss. I told him I'd be here to pick him up later and would miss him more than infinity. He told me he would miss the most. I walked away and sucked up any tears that were trying to escape. Got in my car and drove to work and decided that Kindergarten sucks.

what do you do with your thoughts when they're focused on something that doesn't exist anymore?
I don't really know the answer but I hope I figure it out. when I went to bed last night I layed there with my eyes closed for hours thinking about things going on and went through so many different emotions and feelings from hate to sadness to regret to anger to love to humiliation and to just overall confusion and overload. What I remembered after the clusterfuck of emotions and a couple deep breaths to bring me back to focus was the following outlook that've I've kept in life...
don't let hate consume you. learn and lead from your heart, not other people's thoughts and opinions. stay positive and handle situations the best you can even if they in the worst of times. if you make a mistake own up to it and apologize and then move on. but understand moving on means forgiving and not forgetting. don't be a fool and let someone keep making the same mistake if it hurts you. surround yourself with people that make you feel good for the right reasons, not because of power,fame, or lust but because they make your heart smile. be the best friend you can be to your friends. if you don't agree with something they're doing tell them and then let them decide whats best for them and stand by their side. all in all be a person you'd be proud to be friends with. be an example for your kids. be greatness and the right people will love you for the right reasons.
Along the way I got a little off track but it's about time that I get back to being me. genuine and complete happiness coming soon...

By using paper similar to the toilet paper tube, it gives the illusion that the scene taking place inside the walls are actually part of the roll itself. The detail and depth of each piece is very nice. She claims it only takes her an hour to complete one, which is also impressive. Amazing work!

This post is about nothin in particular. I had a hard time sleeping last night cause I was stressing over something completely out of my control. I don't like where shit is going but I'm not sure where to steer it so I just let shit run all thru my mind last night and stayed awake. Eventually I fell asleep and woke up to a 4 year old giggling in my bed next to me. I turned over and opened one eye big enough to grumble at him and ask him what he's doing. He answered me like I should've already known the answer, here's how our convo went...
me: "grumble, grumble, what are you doing, grumble?"
him: "having a party."
me: "with who?"
him: "all my invisible friends."
And then he continues to name them all. When he was done I snuggled him for a big kiss and grabbed my towel to head off to a day I wasn't looking forward to that he made better already. I told him to party on while I got ready for work.
Everyday I go into work with the same routine. I go to a corner store across from my job to pick up a drink and maybe breakfast if I didn't grab it somewhere else first. Right next door is a barbershop and a hair salon. I love that there are characters of all ages and backgrounds who gravitate towards this spot for the obvious and unobvious reasons. I love that when I wait in line to check out its because someone's playing numbers, I love that the old men teach the young men to hold doors for us ladies and teach them to say things like..."your much too beautiful to be walking around here not smiling." instead of "aye shawwwtyy!" I love that there are station wagons with rims parked out front and that everyone speaks or gives a head nod to acknowledge your presence from the people going to work like myself, the ladies going to get their hair braided or the barbers outside taking a smoke break.
No matter how I think my day is slated to go from lack of sleep or just the shit storms we incur on a day to day basis, I know as long as long as I wake up to a party in my bed and make my daily stop to the neighborhood near my job I know someone is bound to put a smile on face and for that I'm appreciative.
