thee far east movement

Nike 1948 London played host to an opening event last Thursday for the launch of Nike Sportswear’s Athletics Far East Collection. Influenced by Japanese manufacturing, the line features a selection of Nike’s recent traits, such as Lunar Foam technology and an assortment of luminous color choices amongst apparel and footwear. Nike is paying homage to Bo Jackson by releasing his shoe with original color. The shoe is inspired by the Kansas City Royals and Super Tecmo Bowl. Air Jordan have never been my thing unless they are endorsed by Mars Blackmon (Thats III, IV, V, VI for the non sneaker people) but the mixing of the Aqua VIII’s was a really nice way to spice these up.

thee marketing push

Thee final push for thee nike playoff commercials will probably be this tee unless they come up with some crazzi shoes. But thee tee will def be a must have in some sneakaheads and ballers closets.

thee 3 Inches of Blood

|

Nike 6.0 and Canadian heavy metal band, 3 Inches of Blood, have joined forces resulting in the darkest 6.0 shoe collab to date. The band chose Nike 6.0’s NEW Zoom Oncore High to translate their soundtrack of mayhem. Inspired by Viking folklore and mythical carnage, 3 Inches of Blood worked with the product team on custom materials and colors. The upper, constructed with premium distressed battle-worn leather is mixed with sanguine accents and the muted greens of rot and pestilence. Metallic side panels simulate armor and warrior-shields, while the blood-red outsole and tongue are an ode to the band’s name.

These new kicks dropped on May 8th, 2009 at select retailers and are available for a limited time, at NikeStore.com.

thee nubuck

Later this month, a trend starter returns. No, the Air Jordan 12 “Nubuck” was not the first retro to come in a non original color, but it was a first for a couple things that have become very common. They were the first shoes to be sold exclusively online. They were the first shoes to be sold in a package. Lastly, they were the first retro Jordans that broke the $200 mark at retail. That was then, but more than five years since their initial release, the Black/University Blue Air Jordan 12 will return.

This time around, the shoes will roll solo to retailers when they officially release May 30th for $150. Click here to have a better look at the upcoming Air Jordan 12 “Nubuck” retro.

Ever since the Defining Moments Package (DMP) dropped back in 2006, sneakerheads worldwide wondered if a DMP2 would ever be released. Rumors spread a while ago that a new pack composed of two pairs of the Air Jordan 5 would be the sequel to the 2006 package, but nothing was confirmed at the time. And then not too long ago, we confirmed the rumors and showcased detailed pictures of each sneaker. Now, the time has finally come for the Air Jordan 5 Retro DMP to release. If you haven’t noticed by now, this package will consist of two sneakers: a red suede Air Jordan 5 and a black 3M Air Jordan 5, and will retail for $310.

With all the hype behind the Air Jordan 5 Retro DMP as of late, many have forgotten about the two other sneakers that will be releasing this weekend. Both sneakers are reissues of the Air Jordan Dub Zero and both feature black patent leather bases. On the first pair, the black base is accented by white stitching and laser blue hits on the inner lining and midsole, while the second sneaker features a black upper with white and taxi accents. The Air Jordan 5 Retro DMP and the two Air Jordan Dub Zeros will release on May 23, 2009 for a retail price of $310 and $160, respectively. Be sure to check out the detailed pictures and tech information after the ‘jump.’
